Martin House Children’s Hospice cares for children and young people with progressive life – limiting illnesses and provides support for their families. We are based in our purpose built hospice in Boston Spa, Wetherby and care for the children and young people from throughout the Yorkshire region. In 2012 we celebrated our 25th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the opening of our teenage unit, Wetherby Lodge.
We originally commenced the evaluation of the Gift Aid system suppliers in 2009. After much deliberation and internal discussion we selected BMc Azurri based on the strong references and the envisaged levels of support. Support was of paramount importance to us and we have been delighted that our selection of BMc Azurri has proved to be successful as they have met and indeed exceeded our expectations as a supplier.
The system was not the most expensive that we looked at and has enabled us to generate significant Gift Aid revenue and expand to 8 shops. We have claimed 3 times our outlay to date in Gift Aid giving us a quick and excellent return on our investment!
Whilst the system has proved to be extremely reliable and easy to use, we have found the help desk support desk particularly helpful and always very friendly and patient with our volunteer staff.
In terms of general support to us BMc Azurri has displayed a flexible approach and at all times tried to understand our issues and resolve them, even when they were not directly related to BMc Azurri.
Examples of excellent level of service by BMc Azzuri:
1 We were unsure whether Gift Aid would be worth implementing in one of our shops. BMc Azurri volunteered to install a unit free of charge for a 6 month period to allow us to evaluate the Gift Aid potential in the shop. This proved to be a success and we subsequently implemented the system fully across our estate.
2 We had taken the decision to change the broadband provider and this created a problem in one of our shops. BMc Azurri picked up on the problem before we did and pro actively contacted us to investigate. On learning of the issue, they volunteered to help us by liaising with the Broadband provider and patiently ensuring that all of the settings at our Boston Spa shop correct. This service was not in their remit but they took ownership and time to resolve the problem.
